why are you here ?

You have been given a responsibility. you perform to the best of your ability. others are not happy - at least some of them - because you have become their boss without deserving to be so ( they think so ).
the general perception is that everything is chaotic - you are a failed manager and that needs to be proved by them and so they work towards it. you are tolerated because the superiors wanted you to be there ( any reason ?) your juniors didnt want you and no amount of being good helps. they extract 'their' good out of you. thats all you are there for. you are outdated. ideology means little today.you dont earn enough. and thats the reality.
